An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.

"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil—he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good—he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you—and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Prince George's County gambles on its own version of statistical reality

Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center On the Potomac in Maryland Washington DC Hotel Washington DC Hotel With 2000 luxurious rooms, including 110 lavish suites, our spectacular 18-story glass atrium welcomes you to the hotel, offering sweeping views of the Potomac River, Washington, DC and Old Town Alexandria. Come and discover for yourself the jewel of the capital region—Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center. Take an interactive walkthrough underneath our majestic climate-controlled glass atriums and discover the “wow factor" our guests keep talking about!..no mention of Prince George's County

Prince George's County's political elite have announced their not-too-surprising support for world-class gambling.[1] No one doubts the benefit to National Harbor's operation; no one question that a successful gaming addition to the complex will the State of Maryland coffers and spin off revenue to a beleaguered county's local government. However the claim of 5000 union jobs that pay 35,000 to 50,000 is not substantiated. In fact it is most likely a deft conflation of hoped for employment outcomes meant to sway working citizens who do not have the luxury of time to research statistical information about the gaming industry.

(1) Estimates for detailed occupations do not sum to the totals because the totals include occupations not shown separately. Estimates do not include self-employed workers.
(2) Annual wages have been calculated by multiplying the hourly mean wage by a "year-round, full-time" hours figure of 2,080 hours; for those occupations where there is not an hourly mean wage published, the annual wage has been directly calculated from the reported survey data.
(3) The relative standard error (RSE) is a measure of the reliability of a survey statistic. The smaller the relative standard error, the more precise the estimate.
(4) Wages for some occupations that do not generally work year-round, full time, are reported either as hourly wages or annual salaries depending on how they are typically paid.
(5) This wage is equal to or greater than $80.00 per hour or $166,400 per year.
(8) Estimate not released.
